As I’ve only written one book and it was self-published, I generally feel imposter syndrome when people refer to me as an author. But last Saturday I was surrounded by people in the same or similar boat to me. We were all exhibiting our books at the Independent Authors’ Fair organised by Script Haven, Worcester’s independent bookshop. The event was held in the Guildhall on the Hight Street, a very prestigious venue! I shared a stand with Lisanne Davidson, who writes children’s books, and we had some good chats during the 5 hours that the fair was open. I sold some books, had some interesting conversations and made some useful connections. I doubt that many authors enjoy marketing their books but, unless you have a publisher acting for you, it has to be done!
